The 12th gift is FAITH: May you believe!

So here we are at the final gift from Charlene Costanzo’s book The 12 Gifts of Birth. I hope you have enjoyed unwrapping each day’s gift with us. At the bottom is a link where you can find the book for purchase for yourself or that special someone that needs to know how special they are. As I shared in my first blog, this was a book given to me years ago as a baby gift when my son was born. I have given this book several times over the years to other families, often at the birth of their first child. It has been a book that we have read many times in our home, and will continue to read. I continually need reminding that there is something bigger, and better coming. Hebrews 11:1 reads “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen (NKJV).” What are you hoping for this Christmas? Is it something that can be wrapped and placed beneath the tree, or is it something bigger? The health of a loved one, a renewed marriage, the salvation of a wayward family member? Maybe you’re like me and are hoping for unity in your family or church. It has been an amazing journey over the last 12 days to see our children want to add their thoughts to this blog page. It has been my prayer this Christmas that God would give our family like mindedness and a common goal. That each member would embrace their place and purpose at this time and work for the good of one another. I can say I am starting to see a glimpse of it, but much of it remains unseen at this moment. That’s where faith comes in. I can either focus on what I can’t see and doubt, or ask God to give me faith for the things that are yet unseen. I pray you unwrap faith this year. That you apply it to areas of your life that need to be rejuvenated. I pray that God would use this time to draw you closer to himself. That He would reveal the most precious gift: “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God-Ephesians 2:8 (NKJV).” If you get only one gift this year, I pray it will be that one. If you already have it I pray that you will share it with someone who doesn’t. God wants to use us in both big and small ways to share this truth with a world that is in desperate need of it.
